Hi, nice to meet you!
My name is Kerry Williamson, and my husband and I have four children ages 4 to 16. Our family has been homeschooling since 2002, and we will proudly graduate our first student in 2014. While we didn’t join Classical Conversations until my eldest was in sixth grade, we followed a classical model for most of our homeschooling prior to joining CC. With God’s help, we plan for all four of our children to graduate through Challenge IV with CC!

So, what do you study in Challenge III?
Challenge III generally corresponds to the Junior year of High School.  However, this is not a grade-leveled program, so there is some flexibility in student placement. Challenge III seminars develop the skills of Rhetoric, Logic, Exposition, Grammar, Debate, and Research through the content of: American History, Shakespeare/Poetry, Philosophy/Logic, Chemistry, Latin, and Advanced Math.

Students learn by class discussion and leading seminars.  (The best way to learn is to teach!)

What credits can my student earn in Challenge III?
1 credit Foreign Language (Latin)
1 credit, Science with lab (Chemistry)
1 credit, English (Shakespeare/Poetry)
1 credit, History (American History)
1/2 credit, Speech elective (Oral Presentations)
1/2 credit, Logic elective (Adv Traditional Logic)
1/2 credit, Philosophy elective (Adv Philosophy)
1 1/2 credits, Algebra/Trigonometry/Geometry (Adv. Math A)

What about accountability?
You will receive regular updates about your student's completed work and class participation.
